What does it mean to be a member of Grace Fellowship Church?

Membership means identity. Every Christian is identified with Jesus Christ by the baptism of the Spirit at the moment of salvation. Every Christian is commanded to be identified with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection through the obedience of believer’s baptism. Every Christian is to be identified with a local church. Each person that makes up the church body is significant as members of the body of Christ. (1 Cor. 12:27)

Membership means involvement. You are needed in the church and your opportunities for service are unlimited. God has gifted you with a talent to perform a special service, task or ministry in His church. The greatest fulfillment comes with the discovery of that talent and the utilization of it toward the service of our Lord. (Rom. 12:4-5)

Membership means influence. We are encouraged and influenced by our participation in the church. God desires to complete our lives through the complement of other believers. The church is God’s family, designed for love, nourishment, acceptance, instruction, wisdom, and development for every believer. (Heb. 10:24-25)

What is expected of a member of Grace Fellowship Church?

Responsibility. We are not our own, we belong to Jesus Christ. Therefore as members of His body, we share a mutual obligation to the Head, Jesus Christ. We witness, serve and live to glorify Him. (1 Cor. 6:18-20)

Accountability. In that we are one body, one household of faith, we are accountable to one another for our attitudes and actions. The church provides the needed base of accountability whereby we grow and mature. (1 Cor. 12:20-27)

Testimony. Consistency of testimony among each member of the church is of the utmost importance. Our lives are to be marked by faith, purity, and love. (Eph. 4:1-32)

Generosity. We, as members of the body of Christ, are to care for one another. We are to share our resources in support of the ministry, including our treasure, time, and talents. (2 Cor. 9:6-8)
